==Overview:==
Nobody knows what possessed the Goliath Scorpians to create this mech though
it is thought that large quantities of Necrosia were involved. It is thought
that the idea for this mech might have origionated from a report of an
encounter between a D.E.S.S. recovery team and a seeker that resulted in a
danceof scars between the seekers mech and the much smaller ultra-light mech
driven by the D.E.S.S. team commander that ended in a draw. This mech is named
after a small biting insect that causes discomfort out of proportion to it's
small size.

==Capabilities:==
The Chigger is a small compact quad that packs a pair of ER medium lasers in
the side torsos tied to in the head tied to a targeting computer. The Chiggar
can run up to 160 kph and can hit up to 216 kph for short bursts when it
engages it's super charger. the compact quad configuration gives it
unparrallel stability on ice or pavement,and enable it to fit into tight spots
that a normal size mech could never get into .It carries the maximum amount of
armour that will fit on it's small chassis

==Variants:==
There is one chiggar that has replaced the ER medium lasers with Heavy medium
lasers

==Deployment==
Right now this mech is deployed with training and solhoma units, though there
is some talk of trying to place them in protomech units. It remains to be seen
whether or not that will be allowed.

That's one sweet little 'mech you've got there. It's even small enough that you could smuggle it onto a planet to provide unexpected support to special forces troops. Do you think the Scorpions sell them?

No one is sure about what poseesed ths Goliath Scorpians to build this mech
though there are rumours that large quantities of Necrosia were involved . It
is believed that the idea behind the design was some information about a
strange blue furred creature called a Wombat. Little is known about this
strange creater except that it would chew on almost anything and had a habit
of putting objects that it collected in its pouch .It is also asserted that it
would pass flaming gas after eating a strange substance known as Chili
Inferno IIC leven less is known about this strange substance .The Wombat was
believed to be a friendly if somewhat distructive creature.

==Capabilities:==
The Wombat carries a head mounted Heavy Medium laser tied to a targeting
computer and has a flamer mounted in the rear of the center torso .The wombat
has a running speed of over 162 kph and has a super charger that enables it to
achieve short bursts of up to 216 kph. It carries the full amount of armour
that a mech that size can carry . The quad chassis is compact enabling it to
fit in places that other mechs cannot go,scarcly large than a protomech it can
fit the same mission profile.

There is only one Wombat in existance

==Deployment==

I have a bunch in the ultralight weight class use search to locate my Harley-Davison designs 9 differant chassis 3-10 ,4 -15 and 2-20 ton with a LOT of sub variants then there is the 15 ton Ice Guardian Omni mech.

The Chiggar 2 is especially interesting - I like heavy lasers. The things aren't even all that expensive, despite the XXL. And it packs more armor than the Firemoth, too.

The Orkav was designed to fulfill one very specific mission: to provide
special-operations groups with heavy support.

The Orkav had to be fast, relatively well armed, and above all, easily
conceal-able.

The 'mech meets all of those requirements. With a top speed in excess of 97
KPH, it is more than fast enough to make a speedy getaway when it has to.
Armed with twin Diverse Optics Type 2 Medium Lasers and a Zippo Flamer, the
Orkav is easily capable of dealing with any light armor or infantry it might
encounter. And, weighing in at only 15 tons, it can be easily concealed in a
simple cargo crate.

When you get that small you HAVE to mount all the armour you can cram on...going armless will cost you as they help serve and damage soakers That is one of the reasons I use quads more armour on a leg than an arm.

I should mention that if the Orkav comes up against anything heavy enough to be a serious threat to it, then the mission if probably screwed anyway, and it's time to beat a hasty retreat.

I have decided that the easiest way to answer Warhammers questions about the viability of ultra-light mechs is to bump up my designs and let people judge for themselves

Damage soakers? Max Tech states that when you hit armless mech to arm you deal no damage. (p. 62 - 63)
