Yup. See, they stuff all these particles into this little cartridge, and when it's fired, it opens a little hatch and they spew out. I could elaborate, but then I'd have to kill you and what fun would that be?
Sorry, couldn't resist. A better explanation is that energy weapons require some sort of power pack or power on BA, as there is no fusion engine to power them. So each energy weapon carries a power pack, effectively ammo, that allows it to fire XX times.

Explanation the program that I used is Battle Armor Forge the rule set used were the ones developed by Dave McCulloch (MacAttack) and served as the basis of the currant rules there have been a lot of changes in the rules before they became cannon these rules do not reflect those changes so all designs can be considered to be non-compliant now I have also posted these on HMP the designs for the Mite Mk I and Mk II have already been run through the HMBA Beta program and hopefully the others will be soon then you will be able to see the differences and once TPTB get off their Dead Asses and approve production you will be able to use the proper rule set .BTW I was not aware that the rules for BAF were flawed when I was told about it and I believe the person who told me was unaware of the flaws as well.

Which would be a lot of fun - but wouldn't help you in this case at all. HMBA is not part of HMPlus - especially since HMBA has not been released yet.
