I am trying to get a job in Ottawa or there abouts (that is Canada for those who don't know... and Canada is the big thing on the map north of the United States!).
However, I don't know anyone there. And networking gets more jobs then anything else. So if you happen to live in Canada, and know people in Ottawa who have jobs with companies that might be hiring, then I'd really appreciate your help!

I don't know anyone in Ottawa myself, but I know enough people that I might be able to help. What type of job are you looking for?

well I have an MA in political science (theory & human interaction) and a BA in political science (general/international relations) for education.
I have five years experience educating students in crisis managment and diplomacy, and four years as a land surveyor.
As for jobs, I have looked for Public Relations positions, but only can find upper management (which I don't have enough experience for). I have looked for enviornmental jobs, such as alternative energy development, as more money will be invested in those companies due to President Bush's State of the Union speech. I figure people will start expanding business and will need to hire more policy people.
So the fields I have looked at are:
1) Public relations
2) Crisis Management/Corporate Training
3) Policy Analyst - Alternative Energy
4) Policy Analyst - Nuclear Energy
5) Policy Analyst - International Banking
I am willing to expand that field as well, as I need a full time job. Part time work is fun but it isn't a full time job!
I can't work for the Canadian government (well not directly, cause thats illegal according to my passport) but could work as a consultant from what I can tell.
What I love about Canada, however, is you get a six month grace period before they require you to fill out paperwork! That is just spiffy!!! When I talked to the British about working in London they gave me a huge line, and I was like "Well the United States was once a colony and we left without permission, can't we just say I'm a citizen in exile?" the guy laughed, he was a friend of mine from school, but the answer was still "No."

Hmmm.... All the people I know are not that smart. How about applying at the airport. Always room for PR guys at the airport.

airports do need PR people and I wouldn't need to take a taxi to get to the interview site!!! That is a good idea! You have won 10,000 bonus points!

Yep Human Interaction, that is what this Poly Sci guy is doing, Sales. I am talking big stuff, B to B, or ideas to businesses, not retail or direct to consumer.

yeah rather then selling junk you don't need in the physical sense...
I sell you junk you don't need in the metaphysical sense!
But I temper my evilness by trying to work for people who actually have something you need and not junk.
