Have you heard about the statue they made of Stevie Ray in Austin? There was this patch of concrete in front of it for people to stand on while they admired the statue. But after one or two years so many people had stood there that the concrete wore down into a hollow that held water. So they had to break it up and pour a new slab.
The slab was supposed to have been good for a decade or more.
Yes, he was the very best. You just had to watch his hands move to know it. He really did die too soon.

I had never heard much of him until his death. I do like his stuff, but cannot say I'm a real fan (don't own any albums or CDs). Wasn't his brother the lead singer in the Fabulous Thunderbirds? I saw them open for CSN years ago.
