The armor upgrade was a fairly obvious decision; I like the rationale of making it able to take a gauss hit anywhere on its torsos or legs.
I'm not so certain about the wisdom of removing the LRMs. The UAC has decent range, but for 3065 a maximum range of 18 will put a mech at a substantial disadvantage, especially on the clan front. The loss of missile accuracy does not help either. I view MRMs as something which really do not have a place on a 'mech...if you can afford a 'mech, you can afford real missiles.

And I view it as an useful weapon for harassing the enemy when AC is gone. Of course that it won't cause much damage, but it may be fired as you retreat and it has so much ammo that you can try tough shots.

A better way to go might have been to keep the LBX AC and switch to a Streak-6 pack. Since the MRMs lean short range anyway, why not go for a real in-fighting weapon, which is more heat friendly too.

Yes, heat friendly, but where can I find additional 1.5t? Of course that if I used the 4 pack it would look nice, but the idea is not to get in to SRM medium range at all, so they wouldn't be fired that often.
The weapons were designed with following pattern in mind
round 1: 2x UAC + MRM = 12 heat
round 2: UAC + MRM = 8 heat
Once in a while you leave the MRMs or AC silent, but it shouldn't be a problem.
