Despite the fact that it got stomped by the Wolverine WVR-8K in AWAD's matchup, I found that I liked the SHD-5D a good deal, and I thought it would be interesting to match it up against a heavy level 1 design. At first I chose a Warhammer, and the Shadow Hawk just tore it to shreds by jumping behind it and tearing through the 'Hammer's rear armor with the RAC, so I decided I needed something that had very thick armor and could jump. Thus, I decided to try the Eridani T-bolt.
In the first round, the Shadow Hawk beat the T-bolt very easily, so I equalized the BV by giving the T-bolt a veteran pilot and the Shadow Hawk a regular pilot, and that made it a very close fight. _________________ "The enemy's gate is down."

I went with the t-bolt dispite the tech difference because thunderbolts are impossible to kill there very though _________________ Nothing is as good as it looks and rarely looks as good as it isAnything that can go wrong will go wrong :Murphy

T-bolt. Both for shear coolness factor, and because they are a remarkably mobile heavy, with thick armor, and decent weapons load.
OK, and the T-bolt was the first Heavy I ever flew, and I have a soft spot for it.

you're underestimating the RAC-5
The Eridani Thunderbolt is actually much better here than the -5R or the -5S. Without the jump jets the Shadow Hawk would get behind it every time it won initiative. _________________ "The enemy's gate is down."

Doing his Homer....... Ttttt'''''''Bolt
Great Mech. The Eridani is a very good version. Mobility and firepower, plus armor. One advantage is it carries just LRM ammo so less ammo to hit. Problem is it is in center torso and those pesky snake eyes can end it quick.
The Shadowhawk is a medium to short range Mech. Just firing the 2ML, SSR4, and RAC on one shot equals the firepower of the Tbolts 3ML and LL. TBolt LRM comes into play early, then never.
But with the RAC if hte Shadowhawk as the shot can crank it up to 3 or 4 shots and 6 if it really easy. This makes up for hte 3 ton armor difference.
Finally the Shadowhawk runs cool, the TBolt could slowly heat up, especially at that range 5-6 area.
Believe it or not, I am going to take the new Tech over the classic. As long as the Shadowhawk does not get into physicals or at long range, it will win, 2 out of 3.
AWAD- Steiner version T-Bolt, with Flamer........
