I am so pumped about this. Never bought Frank Millers
300 but I read them. So far it seems they will be
loyal to the look. Time to reread Gates of Fire. One
Of hte best books ever written. Even all hobbled as I am
I will go see this opening weekend.

This movie looks really good...I wish they would make one about the Ten Thousand and their adventures through Asia Minor, Xenophon was one hell of a leader... _________________ Karagin Only the dead have seen the end of war. - Plato

For the look, not costumes. I give it a 5 if possible. Loyal to the Comic, a little over in a few places. Did not realize 2 hours had passed. Very violent and gory, of a different kind. But the history and some of the story just did not click with me. But I would recomend it and would see it again, only in Imax or at home on video.
AWAD- The close ups of the Corinthian Helmets rocked
When Xerxes called upon them to lay down their arms, Leonidas replied "Molon Labe". the b is pronounced like the letter v. The most famous quote in military history. It means "Come and get them."
When the Texas revolution began, Mexican General Cos demanded of the Gonzales Militia that they hand over this dinky little 2 pounder canner they had in their town militia. 2 pounder means the cannon ball weighed 2 pounds. They refused and made up a new, now world famous flag. The image of a cannon and words "Come and Take It." Cos tried and got his hat handed to him.
That is pretty much what went down at Lexington and Concord too. The British marched out of Boston to confiscate militia weapons. And the militia let them have the lead musket balls first. _________________ "Those who beat their guns into plows will plow for those with guns..." -Thomas Jefferson
