Thanks; I just realized that I created a battle armor pilot NPC for a faction I came up with that didn't yet actually have its own battle armor. _________________ "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat." -Edgar Allen Poe"I knew there was something special about you, but I never realized you were really a cat." What era would this be?
I don't think it's that impossible given the "spoils of war" nature of equipment. Pretty much everyone eventually has at least one of something even if they can't build more. If comparative factions have largely taken up similar wargear by the year, why not?

I resolved the matter the other day in a rather interesting way.
On a whim, I created an NPC for the faction - a female scientist and Lostech prospector (via the Lostech Prospector life path).
I got the event roll that said "rare discovery".
I ruled that the "rare discovery" was a functional suit of prototype SLDF-era Nighthawk battle armor.
Given that I've already established the faction as being masters when it comes to reverse-engineering, I'm saying that they were able to take the suit, reverse-engineer it, and produce an upgraded version that, for the time being, I've dubbed the "Helaman".
The main draw for Helaman armor is that it has backpack and shoulder mounts for equipment, allowing the load-out to be altered for various missions; in essence, it's an omni-armor.
The primary load-out is a large jet pack similar to the Sylph armor and a pair of infantry-grade LRMs coupled with whatever hand-held weapon the pilot is carrying; the purpose is commando operations, with a little bit of "hit-and-fade". Version "A" has a smaller jet pack that doesn't permit quite the flight capability, but has a pair of over-the-shoulder infantry SRM 2 launchers; it's a shock trooper number. _________________ "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat." -Edgar Allen Poe"I knew there was something special about you, but I never realized you were really a cat."
