The Gauß Rifles make this a dangerous foe at range but if the enemy gets close the relatively thin armor in combination with it's XL engine would be a problem. But nonetheless it will give pirates a bad day when they mistake this for an old 6R.
This was never meant to face opposition that happens to be able to respond in kind. Other ugly Q-'Mechs could keep the enemy at bay, but 7G's trick is really just spewing gauss shells as fast as it can to criple the target before they manage to get close, changing the WHM to direct fire support role mostly. I don't really consider this to be a 'Mech I'd want to field regularly, but rather a thing that would appear in a mission and fade back to obscurity.
