Using the updated errata for conventional aircraft that removes the minimum of 3 safe thrust and replaces it with 2 thrust mp to take off, i made this craft. Designed to carry 10 bombs and use dive bombing and strike attacks to kill enemy vehicles, infantry, and mechs. I wanted an AC/20 but with only 2 shots per ton for ap ammo you need 5 tons for a decent 10 shots, so I swapped for an AC/10. The design is intended to carry 10 shots of ap and 10 shots of flechette. I was determined to keep the VSTOL equipment to improve its close air support in the field abilities.

The TC helps counteract the +1 for ap ammo. I used Lamellor-Ferro armor do to its -1 dmg per 5 dmg dealt, and how it improves this units durability. The ECM is intended to be used in ghost target or electronic warfare mode to make the unit harder to hit as well as to nullify advanced targeting gear (streaks).

Main armament is the AC/10 w/ 10 shots AP ammo for anti-armor work (10+ for a crit on a hit) or w/ 10 shots flechette for anti-infantry work. If BA is expected in quantities that call for air strikes then a ton of standard rounds can be carried instead. The TAG is used to spot and mark for arty and lrms before or after a ground attack. The recon camera allows the units to now spot for arty and lrms that are not being guided by TAG (errata prohibits aero from being spotters without a recon camera). These items improve the units versatility as a dedicated ground support unit.

Lastly, I picture the unit being semi-omni capable do to specialized weapon points on its exterior for weapons pods. This variant carries 7 RL/10 pods. Another carries 6 MGs. Any non-energy weapon massing low enough 1 to 1.5 tons can be easily outfitted onto this weapon points.

The above variant is intended to carry a mix of HE and Cluster bombs with 2t ap ammo and 1t flechette. It attacks one or two heavily armored targets swiftly and then circles to take opportunity shots.
