Overview:
    For a design that started as a debate amongts some techs after their unit faced a clan
    Kraken, the Tapper has come farther than it probably should have.

Capabilities:
    Mounting an unusual 7 AC/2's this mech has a very distinctive appearance. It's 5 medium
    lasers also have longer barrels than normal in an attempt to make it look to have more guns
    than it does. The 12 barrels sticking out of the front of this mech have given it the
    nickname"Porcupine". While fast for a 90 ton mech this mech is more of a curiousity than an
    effective war machine.
    
    Or that's what people thought; even the design team. This machine was actually built so the
    techs who designed it could see it in a more physical view and thereby further argue it's
    flaws and merits. Having been built they ran it through a few tests which were inconclusive.
    However one day when it was being prepped for a test; a pirate band raided the area. The
    techs threw one of their own into the fray to help out. While the piloting and gunnery
    skills of the sergeant who piloted it were lacking the mech performed remarkably well. The
    Tapper took down a Jenner and a Hollander before they could close and when a Drillson came
    close the Tapper opened up with it's lasers and then kicked it to scrap. The unit's
    commander was impressed enough to give the sergeant some mech training and be allowed to
    pilot the mech.

Deployment:
    The only known Tapper in existance is the one cited above. It is piloted by Lt. John
    Samuellson, now lance leader of the Fire Support lance. No other mechs of this type are
    known to be in existance by any sane person.
