Replacing PPC with AC/5 harmed this machine a lot. Now it resembles slow Clint. It has more armor, but it doesn't have the ability to flee from enemies. With PPC there was a chance to eliminate opponents of similar weight and threaten even heavies, but now it must rely on lasers and let the enemy close to use them. |

Its an average mech. Its nothing to be scared of anymore though. It went from a mugger to something thats not all that dangerous.
I could see Marik fielding it due to the PPC issues in 3025. Goes from the Alley Cat worth designing the Wolfhound to counter, to just something you can kill at range. |

The Panther's low speed is only made acceptable by the firepower of the PPC. By cutting that in half, it becomes too slow to get near lights and mediums, and too small to survive getting close to heavies and assaults. It doen't have enough long range firepower, doesn't have enough short range firepower, and doesn't have the speed to get close or run away. |

Hmmm It still has the problem with the lack of speed the armour protection is inferior to the original and it lacks the hitting power especially at long range. This mech could make a fair city fighter ..it is no longer suited for long range support and the lack of a long range weapon will make its other deficiencies even more glaring |
