More along the lines of the original AC-equipped SHD.
Swapping the pulse laser for an ER version does improve the long range abilites of the mech, but Im not sure that the two additional heat sinks will cover the heat cranked out by the ER laser.
Still, with adequate cover, and maybe a lake or river to stand in, this mech will make a decent sniper. |

17B seems to be keeping much more with original idea of the design. It can keep the distance against low-tech designs, and it can endure heavy fire, for a while, but the it cannot fire the large laser and LRMs together too often and LRM ammo supply is quite limited for one of it's main weapons. Backup weapons (med. laser) are a little weak too. |

This would be exactly what I'm talking about when I reviewed the 17. You appear to have read my thoughts exactly and built it exactly how I would have.
This should creep me out but I love this variant. Could become field standard for my type of play.
Plus, it does more damage than the stock AC/LRM model at range and has only a small ammo issue. |
