Overview:
    Based on a special request from a customer who wishes to refit his family owned old Orion
    ON1-V, the Orion is one of the first mechs to be refurbished by Kressly Warworks.
    
    
    
    The customer wanted to revamp the mech but want the mech to remain as reliable as ever, so
    Kressly Warworks could not base the new refit on the Orion ON1-M which had an expensive and
    vulnerable XL engine.
    
    
    
    Instead Kressly engineers studied the configuration and loadout of the legendary Orion ON1-K
    that was rode by General Kerensky himself during the Amaris war. By basing on a tried and
    true variant of the Orion, Kressly engineers successfully re-created a new version of the
    ON1-K, now aptly named ON1-K2.
    
    

Capabilities:
    Kressly engineers firstly needed to revamp the mech's internal structure and single
    heatsinks. The costly and time consuming process almost took 2 and a half weeks to complete
    but it was alright. The customer was willing to wait and pay the big bucks plus as a minor
    royal in House Marik, he can freely provide the advanced technology of the FWL easily.
    
    
    
    The refit was finally successful with the Orion and now with double the cooling capacity and
    with extra tonnage to spare, Kressly engineers could finally begin the real work.
    
    
    
    The original ON1-K was a tough mech. Indeed it almost mounts 15 tons of armor which make it
    almost as tough as an Awesome and other assault mechs in the 80+ ton range.Coupled with the
    standard fusion engine, the ON1-K was extremely rugged, often taking hit after hit before
    going down. ON1-K2 naturally retains the property of its predecessors.
    
    
    
    The principal armament of the ON1-K was an AC-10 comboed with an LRM-15 rack. The
    replacement was similar with a Imperator Code Red Lb-10x resting in the right torso and a
    Guided Technologies LRM-15 on the left. The Guided Tech LRM-15 is slaved to an advanced
    Artemis IV FCS system which ensures the missiles accuracy over the distances. Both weapons
    are supplied with 2 tonnes of ammo each, in their respective torsos as well to make
    reloading easier.
    
    
    
    Replacing the old SRM4 is a new Guided Tech 2nd Generation Streak SRM4. With a ton of ammo,
    the Streak 4 provides a good close in punch against enroaching opponents who dare to face
    the mech upclose. However the Streak 4 is shifted to the centre torso instead of remaining
    on the left torso of the old ON1-K, which removes the possibility of losing both the long
    range LRM and short range Streak.
    
    
    
    With so much ammunition inside the mech, the ON1-K2 has 2 CASES, 1 which is dedicated to the
    Lb-10x ammo in the right torso and another for the Streak and LRM ammo in the left.
    Designers initially wanted to save more tonnage by using only 1 CASE but several veteran
    test pilots disagreed, saying that all the ammo could be lost if 1 side torso was destroyed.
    That was that and the ON1-K2 mounts 2 set of CASE.
    
    
    
    The original ON1-K mounted 2 medium lasers as a last resort which is alittle light. The
    ON1-K2 mounts a trio of Diverse Optics ER medium lasers (again helpfully provided by the
    customer), giving the K2 slightly more punch and with a 30% greater increase in range. A
    single Diverse Optics ER small laser rounds out the weapon's package. Resting on the pintle
    of the pilot cockpit, its give the ON1-K2 much needed point defense against infantry.
    
    
    
    Although the K2 mounts only 10 double strength freezers, the mech mostly mounts low heat
    weapons which means the 10 internal freezers can easily handle the heat. However, the
    customer was advised not to perform excessive alpha strikes due to the large ammunition
    stored in the mech. Fire discipline is still the order of

Deployment:
    Since there is only one Orion ON1-K2, future productions is highly unlikely. However, since
    Kressly now finally have the blueprints and schematics of the basic Orion, its possible that
    other lower tech variants of this timeless Starleague classic Battlemech might now appear
    from Kressly Warworks.
