I like the Panther but this one feels odd. A more stabile weapon platform with a narrow field of fire.
A sort of mini-Scorpion trading speed for JJ´s. |

Pilots probably won't like it because it has less armor on head, command won't allow building it, because it would need assembling another manufacture for mech that already exists in a little different form (and with wider field of fire). Quads weren't much popular in 3025, but this may be interesting experiment with proper fluff. I prefer taking standard Panthers to this one. |

Besides the obvious direct translation of moving the panther from two legs to four, i don't see anything changed from the original panther.
While it gains in some mobility and stability, having four legs also means that this mech loses the benefits of having an arm mounted weapon. Getting flanked or back-ended by lighter, faster mechs isn't going to be fun.
Also the lack of fluff to explain the reasons behind the change does not rank very highly with me. |

Interresting mod. Does not really address the Panther's flaws of low speed and heat issues. The quad chassis is more stable, a good thing but you have failed to take advantage of the ability to carry more armour on that chassis. Two ways to address that would be to either down grade the quad rack to a duece and adding a ton of armour better protection and lower heat at a cort of fire power another better fix would be to drop the SRM for a ML one ton of armour and another heat sink. Fire power pretty close to the same better protection cooler running and no ammo to explode. |
