Overview:
Originally deigned under contract with the Star League the life of the Victor is a long and
prestigious one; one that dates back to 2510 when the Victor was produced as a Heavy Support
Battlemech with jump capabilities; originally produced from three plants that where later
destroyed during the first and second Succession Wars, the Victor mounted a varied array of
anti-mech and anti-infantry weapons: machine guns, short range missiles, lasers, flamers,
and a Pontiac 100 auto-cannon as the primary armament; however, these weapons proved to much
from the machines and where later dropped; likewise, the original targeting and tracking was
replaced do to chronic sensor ghosts that could never be eliminated; like many other mechs
of the Star League, the majority of Victors departed the Inner Sphere leaving those
remaining numbers in the hands of House Militias and Freelance Warriors; consequently, many
of the still existent Victors have at some need repairs that the resulting technological
decay of the Succession Wars made difficult resulting in compromises and variants; one such
variant is Hyoujin which is a Victor owned by Kenji Okuda.
Capabilities:
The Hyoujin is a VTR-9B that has been modified due to battle damaged received during battle.
This damage resulted in the disabling of the Pontiac 100 auto-cannon. As the primary weapon
on the Victor, Kenji needed to replace it quickly. Lack of money and suitable replacement
parts forced Kenji to use what he had on hand. Earlier that month, Kenji faced and defeated
a CN9-A, which was then awarded to him as per his contract. Thou badly damaged Kenji's
technician was able to strip the Pontiac 50 auto-cannon and Luxor 3R long range missile
launcher that were present on the CN9-A; these weapons in addition to a Coventry Volcano
Flamer Kenji decided to use as replacements of his VTR-9B. The modifications were extensive,
requiring the removal of three heat sinks, and took several weeks of labor to complete;
Kenji's friend offered the space and equipment to modify the VTR-9B at a very low cost that
Kenji could pay over time. The results while not grand did get Kenji back on the
battlefield; in addition, Kenji gained an edge in range and surprise as the enemy often
mistakes Hyoujin for a common VTR-9B; a mistake they quickly realize as they are pounded by
long range weapons fire.
However, the modification job was not perfect and the right arm assembly suffers
from over correction issues. Apparently the arm and firing computer continue to react as if
a Pontiac 100 was still present; disrupting the aim of the new weapon systems. It appears
though that Kenji has compensated for this inaccuracy; a necessary skill to have as it
appears that the technicians cannot find what is causing the errors or fix them.
Kenji and Hyoujin have been in many of the conflicts which span the Inner Sphere.
Not nearly as famous as Natasha Keresnky of the Black Widow Company, Kenji is still known by
many people all over the Inner Sphere. With over thirty battles under his belt and
approaching fifty years old, Kenji decided to retire to Alshian along with Hyoujin in 3041.

Should perform well against other lvl 1's. Once again, move the LRM. (I hate repeating other people but it has to be said). Ditch the flamer, unless you're a pyro and have a thing about randomly setting forests on fire. I have a good story about flamers....maybe I'll tell it sometime. Good fluff.

Technically it's a heavier Centurion, for lvl 1 tech it should work. If it was designed as production model, than it would be lighter, but as Victor rework it's fine. I would object having AC and LRMs in one arm, but due to nature of the mech I'm wiling to look somewhere else. Nice fluff (point up for that).

This fits into the Grasshopper profile, although its a bit heavier and does not carry quite as much armor. I'd replace the flamer with another laser to improve the short-range punch, and don't much like the LRMs being in the same location as the autocannon, but these are minor details.
