Overview:
    Ground Zero Salvage and Technology would like to introduce the latest design to grace the
    assembly lines. The GZT-VLT-2D Valiant ! A new heavy mech for a new era for Ground Zero!

Capabilities:
    The Valiant originally started life as the 65 ton Hopkins which was to work in conjunction
    with the GZT mech Hidalgo. The project changed hands several times, was scrapped, and
    finally resurrected in its current incarnation. The Valiant is a short to medium range
    Warrior, relying on support from units with a longer reach to make sure it gets where it is
    going. Once there, it can prove its worth. the main weapon is a GZT produced HellBore
    Autocannon10 UltraClass. While only sporting 30 reloads, this weapon has proven itself
    deadly in the right pilots hands. The cannon is backed up with three Light Brigade medium
    lasers, and a new addition to a Ground Zero mech, a large pulse laser. GZT techs are
    currently researching the pulse laser in an attempt to be able to manufacture the weapon
    themselves. Another unique feature of the Valiant is the absence of an extralight engine,
    which have beena mainstay in Ground Zero designs. THere have been many reports of GZT
    designs being lost to engine hits from weapons fire or ammo explosions, and this is an
    attempt to correct the problem. 13 tons of standard armor provide protection, and the ten
    double heatsinks assist in coping with the heat generated by the weapons.

Deployment:
    Orders have already come in from representatives of the Taurian Concordant, and Valiants are
    starting to roll off the assembly lines. In an interesting move, Ground Zero Salvage and
    Technology has sent a lance of mechs to the mercenary unit Blighted Sun, including one of
    the new Valiant machines. The mech sent to the unit has been updated to include CASE around
    the torso stored ammunition for the cannon. The increase in weight was negligible and should
    not create any performance issues.

Variants:
    The GZT-VLT-3E replaces the pulse laser with an LRM10 and a ton of ammo in an attempt to
    give the mech a longer reach. case has been added to the ammo locations for both the
    autcannon and the missle launcher.
