Despite being more of a "proof of concept" as a fighting machine (see fluff, first Inner Sphere built omni) it is quite a good design. It has lots of pod space and good speed. The only thing to complain about is the relativly small amount of armor that covers that technological marvel.
The prime variant is one of the best. The LRM´s can do quite a good impact on the battlefield though they can keep up sustained fire for only about 1.5 minutes. When the launchers run dry you can fall back on your lasers but be carefull: If you want to finish off your opponent think of your weak armor and your XL first. Better leave the field and fire the lasers at anybody able to keep up. |

Crazy. 11.5 tons of space on a 25 ton Mech that goes 7/11?
Great use of an XL engine here. The firepower mix of the Raptor Prime is one I personally enjoy. High speed and LRMs means you'll be putting the hurt on slower units that can't return fire as well, or at all. A brace of lasers for backup allow you to finish off the bits, or return fire when something faster closes. The MGs allow it to finish off infantry. Kind of like a combination between a Locust E, V and M.
The 11.5 tons of space is used to devastating effect in the other configurations, providing some sick amounts of firepower for a 25 ton Mech. The only thing you really miss on this design is armor. 3.5 tons of standard aint great, but provided your opponents don't bring any heavy weaponry to the party, you could be fine. |

A scout design that has a hope to win a battle only if it elimates you before you get to fire.
Its armour is too thin to support the battling its weapons seem to want it to take.
I doubt this mech would see much use in units who pick their mechs. But units short on mechs will welcome this to replace things that are lost. I'd give it a higher rating but I'm not sold on machine guns when your armour is paper thin. |

Lots of pod space, but this 'mech really pays for all of those guns in the armor department. One good hit will penetrate the armor; hit either side torso with a Clan ER PPC and this 'mech is toast. The weapons are nice, but there's no way this 'mech survives long enough to use them very much. |

Run in and whip off those missiles. I really like this mech. On scouting sorties it provides great fire support. Good heat ability and not bad armour to. All around nice mech. |
