The Striders base chassis isn´t bad. Good speed, acceptable armor and a standard engine gives it some survivability: Again the incorporation of single heat sinks is a thing i don´t really understand and the fixed CASE on both side torsi decreases its versatility in pod configurations with only a ton of ammo or with no ammo at all.
The "Prime" configuration is somewhat specialised. The SRM´s with Artemis gives it strong firepower against vehicles and damaged mechs, the Beagle Probe adds some recon capability and the small laser is more for the peace of mind in case of empty ammo bins than a real weapon.
If you encounter a real BattleMech alone just turn around, run like hell and swivvel your arms backwart to bomb him with SRM´s. |

The basic chassis has potential, but the weapons load-out here is kind of weak. It's also going to be an ammo hog, so don't send it on any sort of long term deployment. |

The Strider isn't a bad chassis either. Again, it seems foolish to give a top of the line OmniMech single heat sinks. But the Endo-Steel is nice to see. While the standard engine slows it down, it also gives it a bit more survivability. Which it will need since it's slow.
A C3 slave would be nice in this config. Then you could spot for longer ranged friends. Still this isn't too bad. The SRMs will do a lot of damage, and the Artemis helps them hit. This is a bit short ranged, but most 'Mechs this size are. The only tactic here is also simple - run up and bomb them with SRMs. If you can, wait to come in until the enemy's already lost some armor. Then you can run in and go crit hunting with the SRMs. |

Keep this set of pods for when your preforming attacks against cities with vehicles... Otherwise never field it. Because your not fast enough to close against most things. |

THis mech and the Raptor have one thing in common. Theyre more 'proof of concept' than viable designs, and this mod proves it.
The SRMs are impressive for a close in punch, but at range, this thing is practically naked.
As a scout, this thing is alright, but its a little too slow to out run anything it cant out gun.
I think in this case, the BAP will reveal the target just before it smears the SR1-O into a greasy red stain. |
