It always reminded me of the Thor Prime, but with a better ammo supply. It really can't really match the Thor in a duel (what medium can?), but can stay in combat longer and is more versatile. Heat can be a problem, but only if you're not careful.
I do wonder about the full ton of MG ammo; I'd prefer to see a few more MG's with less ammunition. |

I would almost call this an s-variant for this omnimech line.
The PPC and LRMs are fairly standard for long range fights, and will let the mech make a good accounting of itself.
Where this mech can do the most damage is close range, say in a city or forest. The twin medium lasers and MGs will chew up lighter mechs and armor, and even give infantry a good reason to look elsewhere for trouble.
The jump capabilities will help out in built up areas as well. Jumping behind targets, cutting loose, and then jumping over a building before taking much if any damage.
A nice mech to add to S-stars of omnis, or as an infantry killer. |

Yes, this one is good. Theoretically the best of the Huntsmen (or should that be Huntsmans?). But I have trouble with lighter 'mechs aping heavier ones. Yes, we have the precedence of the Ryoken B doing as good a job as the Man O War C. But in this case, I would much prefer a similar load to this on my Thor. The Nobori-nin lacks HS to use all its pod space as successfully as the Thor, and the heavy machine's missile launcher works better with the PPC and AC. |

Here is a good configuration; it should be able to deal with pretty much any situation. The ER PPC and LB-X autocannon provide the long-range punch, and the lasers and M.G.s fill in at close range; the pulse lasers can also be cycled with the ER PPC at medium range and help maintain an offensive posture in situations where tactics dictate the need to jump, and heat dictates not firing the PPC. |
