The long range fighter configuration of the Sunder.
An ER-PPC / GR combo delivers brutal firepower and the LRM´s are a good support. Up close two pulse lasers can back up the PPC and even the GR (min range of 2 isn´t that much of a problem).
But here comes the price you pay for so much fixed heatsinks.
You are able to fire everything from the LRM´s to the pulse lasers without any heat though you seldom use all weaponsystems at once.
So i think some heatsinks are just wasted.
The lack of CASE (as in the primary config) can make you pain doubled: You loose your mech in that fight and you loose it for repair. |

For all that fixed DHS, i expect this mech to carry a hefty energy loadout but still its no where there yet. It lack of CASE also means that it is unsalvagable if there is an ammo explosion, which really hurts since this is an expensive OMNI-Mech.
Although this variant can sting at range, the weapons don't make good use of the hefty amounts of DHS, thus lack of firepower. |

This is long ranged but weak in total damage. The gauss and PPC go well together, and the LRMs are good support. Very nice long range damage, and very weak close ranged damage. Dropping the pulse lasers for three standard meds and a C3 slave would make this 'Mech much more dangerous, especially at range. |

Not really ideal. The firepower is strong, but not truly devastating, especially against anything with thick armor. |

Better. This thing is almost perfect for sniper work. I used one of these, but wasnt able to fully analyze it before it was nailed in the cockpit with a Clan gauss rifle. Oh well.
The gauss rifle and PPC go well together, and are supported nicely by the LRMs.
The pulse lasers are good for close in defense, but if the target is too fresh, they wont be able to kill it before this mech takes a serious whuppin. |
