Overview:
    Due to constant shortages and long lasting frictions between the Clan Snow Raven and
    Alliance Military Corps, the aging but still coveted Stinger IIC scout mech was often denied
    to non-Clan military units. This left legacy units of the AMC without adequate mech scouting
    resources beyond older and obsolete options. This issue remained a strong point of
    contention between the two competing arms of the Raven Alliance Military.
    
    However, and rather mysteriously, the Draconis Combine granted a license for the Raven
    Alliance to produce the older, but still sturdy, Mongoose Kell/D BattleMech Chassis through
    Alliance Defenders Limited.  This chassis came complete with the then standardized
    communications and sensor suite, which included a Beagle Active Probe.  A strange turn of
    events given Khan Sterling McKenna's long standing ties to the Davion Family.
    
    That alone would not have made the design producible within the Raven Alliance, however, and
    even more bizarrely, The Concordant then agreed to option it's license for Durralex Light
    armor to the ADL. This license gave the ADL the ability to produce armor that freed up
    enough chassis mounting points while still being light enough to shield the mech with a
    respectable amount of protection.
    
    Strange that two long embittered Davion enemies were willing to help a long time Davion fill
    a strategic need.

Capabilities:
    Although a bit of a 'Frankenmech' compared to more common variants of the Mongoose, the
    Skitter is still a capable design.  Although downgrading the Nissan 200 to a mere Nissan 150
    had left the Mech middling in regards to speed, especially for such a light design, the
    inclusion of 180 meters in jumping distance helps offset this considerably.  Also, while
    again armed with far less firepower than the standard Mongoose, the Mech does pack a pair of
    Rocket Launchers to help it win any one on one duels with machines it can't quickly escape
    from.

Deployment:
    The MON-SC-66R is a reasonably inexpensive, reliable scouting unit designed to locate the
    enemy, break contact, and escape.  Although vulnerable to infantry and battle armor, given
    the BAP mounted in the design, it still has a strong chance to avoid ambushers.  Good, if
    not spectacular, mobility combined with the chassis' legendary stability makes it
    problematic for enemies to pin down even inexperienced pilots. This has helped elevate the
    Skitter to being a strong scouting option for any AMC defense force.

Variants:
    Given current production limitations, there are very limited variations of this Raven
    Alliance unit.

Notable MechWarriors:
    In one notable pirate raid, two Skitter pilots performing their due diligence, made contact
    with a convoy of 4 Maxim heavy hover transports.  The heavy troop carriers had been
    traveling along a fire access road that Star Captain Ryan Howell deemed too heavily wooded
    to worry about defending.  this left only a token screen of infantry near the approach.
    Although Lt. Jasser's mech was heavily damaged, and his partner Sgt. Cole did not survive
    the encounter, the two pilots managed to use their rockets to disable both the lead and
    trailing vehicles, making the remaining convoy little more than sitting ducks once heavier
    units could be spared to deal with them.
    
    For her bravery and adherence to duty, Sgt. Cole, who disabled the front most transport, was
    posthumously elevated to the position of bondswoman in Clan Snow Raven. Star Captain Howell
    himself both tied and cut her cord before she was interred.
