    With the industrial revolution in the Inner Sphere over the last two decades, an unforeseen
    event has occurred. The main work horses of the Inner Sphere are no longer the medium weight
    class of Mechs. Their lack of wide scale versatility means most medium designs have become
    obsolete just as production hit their peeks. This shift hurts the various industries that
    produce specialized designs or only produce lighter end vehicles. As a result, Achernar
    BattleMechs upgraded several of its lines for heavier mass production with one line
    dedicated to produce what is hoped to be their new staple production mech, the Dervish II.
    The Dervish II is a redesign and upgrade of the original Dervish chassis to build upon its
    solid capabilities to wield almost twice the firepower.

Capabilities:
    The Dervish II is designed like the Dervish to fill the all-purpose roll. The Dervish II,
    thus, is a fast, well armored, jump capable, and diversely armed unit capable of both
    front-line brawling or fire-support. This allows the mech to maintain, the Dervish?s
    valuable versatility in the field. The first line of attack for the Dervish II are the dual
    Holly 15 LRM racks that are each supplied with 12 salvos. While original planned to mount
    Artemis IV FCS, this addition was eventually dropped when the stress loads on the chassis
    would have required a redesign of the short-range weapons package; this was deemed
    unacceptable and the Artemis system was dropped from the design.  The short-range weapons
    package consists of four arm-mounted CeresArms medium lasers and a pair of arm-mounted Holly
    4 SRM racks. A field standard, the quad medium lasers offer a dangerous amount of firepower
    for minimum weight. While, the SRMs offer an effective anti-infantry, anti-armor, and
    anti-battlemech flexibility.
    
    This classic weapons mixture has proven a deadly combination throughout history, and the
    Dervish II?s heavier weapons package proves a potent enhancement on today?s battlefield.

    The Dervish II is available for sell across the Inner Sphere.

Variants:
    (Was originally designed with a C3 Slave that did not match the written fluff.  C3 Slave
    swapped for twin CASE in each side-torso; while CASE will not save the unit from battlefield
    destruction if ammo explodes, it will save the pilot and allow the Mech to be salvaged in
    the event of an ammo explosion.)
