Like its predecessor this upgraded version is a firesupport mech that should be kept well away from the front.
The UAC´s gives it some more firepower but the XL makes it both expensive and vulnerable.
The armor is somewhat better but should have been upped by an additional 2 tons instead of taking pulselasers. |

Another good example of wasted XL engine from 3050 TRO. FF armour and UACs are a step forward. The armour was terrible in the past, but now even with FF it has XL and weakly armoured arms. In the age of gauss rifle you can't field something that costs so much and can be lost to one or two shots. I didn't mention where was the tonnage wasted yet, did I? Well, Pulse lasers can be helpful to fend off speedy lights, but thanks to their location in torso there is no problem with staying out of their arc of fire. These two tons were needed elsewhere. Additional AC/2 ammo is also an excellent thing to have. If you really think that it will ever last through 45 turns... (AC/5s are empty after 10 turns, 20 if you don't use ultra mode). Thanks to weak protection this can quickly be turned to 65 ton paperweight, or worse, 11 millions worth of scrap that nobody wants. |

This is pathetic. They could have swap the AC 5s for PPCs kept the remaining weapons the same and you still have a half decent mech with slightly more armor thanks to FF and better cooling thanks to DHS.
As for this mod if they can actually add an XL engine to the mech, i think they can even give it endo steel too. Then you can at least wear more armor. Another mod will be remove 1 pulse for other things, i don't know, maybe armor or ammo ?

This varient is a very dangerous fighter with the abilit to take down larger foes using prescion ammo for the AC2 is the way to go |

XLing the Jagermech is about the stupidest idea I've ever seen. It already had a glass jaw; this just makes it worse. Any real 'mech will tear this to pieces in no time. |
