Overview:
Over on the bg.battletech forums, the Tokugawa was featured as Vehicle of the
Week. This inspired me to investigate and build some Tokugawas, as their threads were
starting to get going. Only to look and see - there were no custom Tokugawa on Mordel.
Unacceptable.
It's named "Blake Aut Nil" as a reference to Mark Zuckerberg wearing a fancy t-shirt with
bad latin. If there's a faction that loves bad latin mottos and technocracy, built on a cult
of personality, it's the WoB. And because this seemed like a good jumping-off point - the
"tech exchange" with the Combine before the Jihad was pretty extensive before, accidental or
no. It seemed combining their flavors would build a decent vehicle, so that's how I rolled.
Capabilities:
Staying close to the "brawler" core, I tried to keep it flexible. C3i+ECM is a good baseline
to keep it similar to the original C3; LAC/5 makes a good substitution for MPL with some
utility. SNPPC and MML round it out, with an AMS so that it can use the latest technology
yet still somehow have almost the exact same stats. Advanced armor, advanced engine, same
coverage and movement, same damage. Partly because there's only one canon Tokugawa that
costs greater than 1kBV, none of the customs I designed break that barrier either.
Variants:
Out of variations I have made, I created a "Safety" version intended to yeet the crew off
into an escape pod and a "Beat Drop" version that is intended to be shoved out of an airlock
and cause trouble, following established lines to use unique equipment that I think doesn't
see play. Yay, Tokugawa.
