A dangerous city fighter with considerable firepower and armor.
The three medium pulse lasers give it a hefty punch and the streak is a good though not perfect support.
There is some unused potential though:

But there IS something to do about it! Rip out that AMS and that useless 11th DHS and you´ll have freed up enough tonnage to take a standard engine (or to boost your speed up to 7/11/5). |

Never forget that this was designed by Defiance Industries.. IE the makers of giant plodding assault mechs. By their standards, this is fast!
Kidding (or not ) aside, the Battle Hawk's really a decent Mech when used in the right place. And that place is urban combat.
It moves at a decent clip, it can jump and it packs 3 medium pulse lasers to kill you with. The streak SRM-2 was probably added to give some subsidiary of Defiance something to do :-p.
Its only really weak point is that XL engine... but there isn't anything to do about it. |

An average city fighter. Expensive too for that job. Personally if I'm going to have a one dimensional mech, I'll want it to be cheaper than this XL light mech.
If you really need city fighters get Hunchbacks and Urbies.

Nice close up punch and the pulses ofset the running modifier. Good in close terrain where most mechs have less room to manouver. Its kinda the rich mans urbie, being quite slow but powerful for a light. The XL is a bit iffy, but JJ's are a real blessing. |

As a city fighter or in heavy woodlands, this 'mech will do well. Still, you could probably buy seven or eight urbies for one of these things. In the open field it's going to be cut to ribbons. |
