Overview:
    Yelm Weapons of Fletcher, then producer of the Nightshade ECM VTOL for the SLDF, was asked
    to design a series of Helicopters for use in militias and standard line regiments.
    One would have to be a medium weight attack helicopter able to deliver indirect fire. It
    should use a standard fusion engine and standard weapons and equipment (to save cost and, as
    VTOLs tend to get lost over enemy territory, to reduce the risk of high tech falling into
    the enemies hands).
    Yelm answered with the Phoenix.

Capabilities:
    The Phoenix has decent speed and armor while carrying good short range firepower and LRMs to
    deliver support at long range.
    Three medium laser are mounted under the (side by side seated) pilots feet. The laser in the
    middle is mounted more to the front to make room for the nose wheel. Two LRM-5 are mounted
    on the lower airframe sides and their front is protected by a aerodynamic sliding door which
    slides into the fuselage just before firing.
    The ammo was protected by (or rather the airframe was protected from the ammo) CASE. This
    was not considered 'high tech' back then.

Deployment:
    This versatile machines were found almost all over the territory of the Star League, but the
    Succession Wars took a heavy toll on them. Most were destroyed or salvaged for their fusion
    engines by the middle of the 3rd of these wars. The few survivors are mostly to be found in
    the Draconis Combine and the Federated Suns.
