This suffers from the same problems as all 80-tonners going 5/8. Good speed and armor but some problems with firepower here. The ER-PPC is a formidable weapon and the pulse / streak combo give some reasonable short range punch but all in all you´ll expect more from an assault mech. Maybe you can beef up the firepower by dropping that next to useless TAG and those insane amount of missiles but still it will be much too expensive for what it does. |

Why do designers insist on making 80 ton mechs move at 5/8? The 400 (even the XL version) is far too heavy. Making this a 75 ton design would have given space for more weapons and just as much armor. Two tons of armor for an incredibly ammo efficient system? And TAG on an 80-tonner? Don't the desingers realize that you can't use TAG and regular weapons in the same round? This is a good weapons load for a medium, but an assault? Decent armor and ammo for the AMS, but they aren't protecting much worth keeping |

Seriously undergunned. It exactly a Charger MKII. The weapons aren't going to kill much at all and medium mechs can get similar configs as well.
The Streak 2s are over supplied as well and i can put 1 more ton to better use and the medium aren't great for this guy either. |

For less than a third of the cash you spent on your Spartan I can probably pick up a 45-50 tonner that has the same load out but less armour.
Oh does this mech need something to actually make it worth doing something other than sell. The AMS with 24 shots is the 2nd best item on the mech after the ER PPC.
Which isn't something you want to find out about your assault mech. |

Pretty fair.
This seems to be a brawler that relies more on flashy weapons and tech than any solid hitting power.
About the only really, good gun on this mech, ranged-wise, is the PPC. Theres no mid range weapons on this mech to cover the gap between the PPC and lasers and SRMs. A couple of ER lasers or an LRM would be an improvement.
The armor is beefy, on the plus side. meaning that this thing will be able to close fast, taking a moderate beating, and get into weapons range for the lasers and SRMs.
Maybe in a city fight or close quarters venue, this would be good. But it seems to be undergunned for a ranged battle. |
