An Emperor dominates a battlefield at medium to short ranges. Two LB10-X with enough ammo to switch between slug and cluster are very dangerous to any kind of opponent and the lasers are a formidable support. Though in an open field against mechs with long range weapons it will get problems due to its low speed. |

A pretty decent late 3050s era mech, this is useful for line work, but it will fall flat against any of those Gauss toting monsters.
1 mod i would do is to scrap the pulse lasers and replace with regular meds. Then replacing the LLs with ERLs in order to help compensate the range deficit, the extra 2 tons would then go to DHS.
This wont solve the mech's range problem but at least you dont have to keep relying on the LB-10s to hit enemies at far.

All around one of the best late-model assault 'mechs. It does have a bit of a range deficiency though, as those Large Lasers are going to be outranged by the ERPPCs and Gauss Rifle carriers of the world. |

Yeah, boy. If you want to impress the hell out of someone, drop one of these monsters on them.
The LBXs can sand the armor off your target, while the lasers cut holes in their (rapidly) thinning armor. Slow and painful, kinder to just shoot him in the cockpit and be done with it.
The speed is about what you would figure for a 90 tonner, but the addition of the jump jets can help this thing get out of tight spots, and will really help in city fights.
Nice, thick armor, too. Trust me, the first time you carve up your enemies with one of these, thyere going to want to burn this thing Right Now.
Nice ammo to support the LBXs, too. Dont be afraid to turn and run when the ammo runs low, though.
A fair, all-around design. |

Blessed be the LBx AC.
The LB10x AC is arguably one of the best weapons available in a 3050 style game, and can still be considered a top-of-the line weapon compared to such new-fangled contraptions as RACs and HGRs.
Any Mech that carries 2 of em must thus receive some respect.
The Emperor can and will be death on any vehicles that loiter near it too long. VTOLs esspecially ought to stay at range.
Support weaponry is a pretty impressive laser array, with sufficient heatsinks to deploy it well. Keep an eye on your heat though.
The jumpjets and full armor mean you can stride this design in to the thick of things.
It's main weakness is it's speed, as can be expected on an assault. Use it for typical assault duties, keep it out of situations where it's speed will work as an anker on you.
It'd make a decent 2nd tier and support Mech in slower missions or more static engagements.
While relying heavily on ammo, the Emperor will still function rather well when left to it's laser array. Focus on brawling in that situation. |
